Artist Comments: This was my first Art History course at Concordia and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  It gave me an opportunity to study and learn about artists in the late 19th Century, a period that has always interested me, and also gave me my first introduction on how to analyze artwork. The project I enjoyed the most was the 2nd Assignment which allowed me to submit a painting as part of the assignment.  Taking 2 painting styles (Manet and Gauguin) which differ significantly from my own and then applying their styles to a contemporary subject (the Pakistan earthquake of October, 2005) as they would have done themselves as part of the impressionist movement was a very interesting and productive learning process.
