Artist Comments: Painting 200 at Concordia was my first formal artistic training. I enrolled in this course as an Independent Student to provide a vehicle to explore my artistic side.  After returning from France in 1998, I knew there was a part of me that was missing from my daily life.  It’s surprising how we can place portions of ourselves aside for long periods of time without really noticing … until one day when it hits us that something is off or missing. Taking this course was really just meant to kick-start my creative energy. It did that and much more. I thoroughly loved this course and being in a creative environment with so many creative talented people.  There wasn’t one day when I didn’t learn something from someone in this class. Selena Liss was such a positive influence encouraging me every step of the way.  Thanks to Selena and this class I decided to enroll in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Concordia the following year and have never looked back since.
